What I have been doing: For the October Labour Day long weekend I went on a mini-break to the Central Coast. Expected sun, sea, and serenity. Got a food coma. On a scale from 1 to “why did I eat that third dessert?”, I’m at “roll me out the door.”

What I have been studying: Been reading up on the latest ChatGPT release – it’s about to get even fancier with image and voice recognition. Snap a pic of your fridge or pantry and have your bot assistant give you a dinner recipe. Or better still photograph a room in a property and get renovation suggestions and costings! And the voice feature? Makes passive-aggressive banter with AI just a tad more satisfying.

What I have been reflecting on: The Labour Day long weekend celebrates the worker’s right triumph on the 1880’s to an 8 hour work day. The traditional 8-8-8 split (work, play, sleep). It worked well in the industrial age but fast forward to 2023 with the advent of AI and a remote working movement – where are we heading? I reflected on the art of leverage this Labour Day. Shouldn’t we raise the bar beyond trading time for money? As Warren Buffet once said of leverage “If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep you’ll work until you die”.

What I have been focused on: Prepping for our live event in Sydney, the “Game On Workshop”. Less mic time for me and a heavy focus on community, real deals and hands-on interaction. As Confucius once said, “Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember but involve me and I will understand.” Deep stuff. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and to making some new friends!
